A Complete Bosconian's Guide for a New School Year
The summer season is
almost over, and the time has come again to prepare ourselves for the upcoming
school year. The previous school years have a lot of things to teach us as
students. Now is the time for us once again to start fresh and be a better version
of ourselves. Let me give you 5 simple tips to better prepare yourself for the
coming school year.
1. Organize your
things
First
and foremost, it is our duty as Bosconians to be the ones accountable for our
own things. Although we have our parents to prepare for our stuff, it is not
their duty but ours. We should be the ones viewing our checklist of school
materials whether we have completed it or not. It is but time that we take some
responsibility for ourselves.
2. Mentally prepare
yourself
Aside
from preparing ourselves physically, you have to set your mind that the
summer season is almost over. We must avoid a gloomy face because summer is
ending. Rather, we must put on a smiling countenance and be optimistic for the
coming school year. It is a new adventure wherein we meet old friends and new
ones, old teachers and new ones as well. There would be new learning
opportunities that will help us grow.
3. Start moving
I
know that many of us were busy relaxing ourselves all throughout summer.
However, as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. We cannot go
on with this relaxation nation. It is time that we start moving once again like
helping more in the household chores or perhaps opening some books again and
engaging in some mental gymnastics. Through these things, you would at least be
ready for the rigors of school work.
4. Set goals
Since
we are about to start something new again, why not set new goals for yourself.
Prepare your objectives for the coming school year. For example, you may make
it your goal to be better at English this time compared to the previous school
year. After setting goals, identify lines of action that you can concretely do
and that which is attainable. If for example you aim to be better in your
English class, you may work on speaking more to others in English every day or
read English books for at least 10 minutes per day. In this way you know that
you are achieving your goals.
5. Pray
After
everything has been said and done, a Bosconian will surely not leave out God in
his/her life. Preparing oneself spiritually is also a must. Ask the help of
Jesus to guide you for the coming school year and that no harm will befall upon
you. Also ask the assistance of our Lady, Help of Christians to intercede for
you always. Through these, you would realize that in everything you do, you do
it for God.
