5 Reasons why you should be a Bosconian

If you are looking for something different and unique, I think Don Bosco- Canlubang is the right place for you. I do not want to talk anymore about the quality of education that this school has or the great facilities that it already possesses. What I really want to talk about is the character which I think that this school alone has. Let me give you 5 reasons why a young person like you should be a Bosconian.

1. Bosconians are God-Centered.

What is the point of having all the knowledge in the world if we Bosconians do not have God in our life. Bosconians are Men and Women who love God and love everything about God. For a Bosconian, God is not someone high up in the air who can't be reached. Rather, God is someone who accompanies us every day in our victories and struggles. For us, it is cool to be friends with Jesus.

2. Bosconians are Socially Responsible.

Bosconians do not live in a cloud, but we are rooted to the ground and are vigilant to what is happening to the society. A Bosconian's mark is that he/she is always willing to volunteer especially in times of great need. We actually have a very nice term for this characteristic and that is servant- leadership. We are leaders in our own way because it is in our blood to serve our neighbors.

3. Bosconians are joyful and optimistic.

I know that Bosconians are on their way towards sainthood because there's no such thing as a sad saint. Here in Don Bosco, there is no room for a gloomy face. There is only room for a smile. We smile even in the toughest times. That is why I can say that  Bosconians are some of the happiest people in the world. Joy and optimism is definitely one of our roads to heaven.

4. Bosconians use Technology with a soul.

Bosconians do not live in an archaic time. We live in the 21st century and as such we go as well with the tide of the times. The society right now is especially technologically driven. That is why a Bosconian is known to innovate new technologies to cope with the needs of the time. We do this so that we can be a responsible citizen of this nation. We innovate to help and to uplift and not to distract and to divide.

5. Bosconians are Passionate for Excellence.

As Don Bosco once said, "Do your ordinary duties extraordinarily well." This saying has become a sort of a mantra for all Bosconians. Even though the task is small, it should still be done with all the best a person can give. When sweeping the floor, we sweep as if our lives depended on it. When we study, we study hard to learn a lot of things. When we hear mass, we give our very selves to the mass because it is the center of our lives. We give our very best because God himself spares no expense at all when he pours down his graces upon all of us.

So that's it. I hope I have convinced you as to why you should be a Bosconian here in Don Bosco College-Canlubang. But wait! There is one thing which I think I should add and which could be the 6th reason for you to be a Bosconian. Here in Don Bosco, we are one big happy family. You'll definitely see here a family in which the priests, cleric brothers, teachers, office employees, janitors, security guards, maintenance men, and students are walking hand in hand towards their ultimate goal which is heaven.
